Dear Karol and family, I worked with Joe in the building industry with Newman homes as his assistant. coming from an alcoholic family we had money things to relate to. I just things that stand out to me the most was his great humility not caring what others thought of him. His recovery what's quite a story from losses and gains. I'll tell him I always tell people what you told me about addiction it's like an elevator Beach some people get off on the first floor some people get off in the garage and some ride the elevator and never get off. It's been such a good thing to explain to people when they're dealing with a loved one with addiction. He had a pure love for his wife and his family and always stood out. He didn't care if you lived with abundance or with less he found peace and what mattered which was the lives of others. I'm so saddened to hear Memphis loss

My relationship with Joe started at St. Lukes. We were in cub scouts together and his Mom was our den Mother. We played sports together. We went to Fenwick and car pooled as freshmen. Joe was always happy and I will remember him for that big, ever present smile. My deepest sympathy to Karol and the entire Bidwill Family. Rest in peace Joe.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Joe's death. He and I attended St. Luke School in River Forest. He was Irish to the core: happy; kind; and always laughing. He and I both spent summers at Lake Geneva. I remember when I visited his home there when we were both little boys. We spent the day jumping on his trampoline, swimming in the lake, and laughing non-stop at his grandfather's lush bath towels bearing the words, "Stolen From The Bidwill's ". Every time I saw him - every now and then as we got older - we never failed to laugh about those towels. I'll miss him. God bless Joe and his wonderful family. Jim Jacobs in Denver, Colorado

Joe and I served together on Open Arms Free Clinic Board. He was a tireless supporter of Open Arms and I Never saw him do anything but smile!! We had much in common— 2 of my children graduated from St Norbert College and my wife serves on St Norbert College Board of Trustees. We were both Catholic( St Andrew in Delavan is my parish) and we both felt our family was our greatest achievement. Joe is also my younger son’s name. Joe will be missed by all. The world and our community is much better off because of Joe.

Having graduated in the same high school class together, Joe was one of my happiest re-connections made on Facebook. His posts were consistently warm hearted and good natured, exactly as I remembered him at Fenwick. A heart as kind and a nature as generous as Joe's are hard things to come by in these edgy days. No doubt he will be grievously and deeply missed by those he loved, and who loved him dearly in return.

I am saddened by this news. Joe was one of the strongest persons that I knew. His fight over the past two years was one that not many people could do. His faith and family made it possible. I was so blessed that he was part of my life. My thoughts and prayers go out to Karol, Katie, Connor, Arthur, Kacie along with Stan and the rest of the Bidwill Family. May he rest in God’s everlasting peace.

I have so many memories with Joe. Always with a smile, a positive word, compassion and lots of energy. I think one of the first times I remember hanging out with Joe was out cycling together with a group. Then socially in networking and around town. Often I would see Joe out on the golf course with his sons living the dream. What an example of character, love and happiness.
